Good design requires a careful balance of empathy, collaboration, strategic insight, creativity and bold disruption.

Live from the stage/my workspace

Jacob Carter

Originally hailing from the Rocky mountain foothills around Salt Lake City, I’ve spent time calling various locations home, ranging from New York City to Rio de Janeiro, and then on to Seattle, where I launched my career. I’ve handled all aspects of the design process working on numerous brands, including brand identity, packaging, print, environmental experiences, interactive and illustration.
After eight years in the Pacific Northwest, I relocated with my family to Austin, Texas and became acquainted with the culture of the Southwest and the finer nuances of saying “Y’all”. While in Austin, I’ve had the privilege of working on numerous culturally beloved brands.
I’m currently employed at Retail Voodoo, a small, nine-person strategy and design consultancy located in North Seattle. As a Design Director in a small company I wear many hats on a daily basis, moving comfortably between hands-on design, directing the design team, engaging freelancers, pitching work to clients and keeping a sharp eye on details and quality control.
